Rainy Day Romance in Florence: A Couples’ Photo Session Through the Heart of the City

Last October brought a beautiful surprise for one of my couple sessions in Florence—a light drizzle that turned the city into an even more magical backdrop. Rainy days are often underestimated, but they bring a certain charm and depth to Florence, making it a dreamy setting for romantic photos. This couple was full of creativity and passion, and together, we made the most of the weather, capturing unforgettable moments from Ponte alla Carraia all the way to Piazza della Signoria.

We started our photo session on Ponte alla Carraia, a picturesque spot that offers an amazing view of the famous Ponte Vecchio. The bridge’s old-world light poles and the slight mist added an extra touch of magic to each shot. Rain always brings out richer colors, and this setting felt like Florence in its purest form. The couple embraced the rain, adding so much personality and warmth to the photos.

From there, we made our way along the Arno River, capturing candid moments that highlighted their natural chemistry and the iconic Florentine scenery. As we reached Ponte Vecchio, the historic charm of Florence stood out in every frame. The rain gave the stone paved streets a soft sheen, while the Arno flowed peacefully beside us. It was an ideal mix of spontaneity and beauty, perfect for a romantic couple’s shoot in Florence.

Exploring the streets of Florence to Piazza della Signoria

After our walk along the Arno, we meandered through Piazza degli Uffizi, stopping here and there to capture moments against classic Florentine backdrops. Our last stop was Piazza della Signoria, where the grand sculptures and historic architecture offered an epic ending to the session. Here, we stopped in Rivoire and took some of my favorite photos of the day, capturing the couple’s joy in this iconic Florence café.
