Luxurious Family Photoshoot

Ever since I’ve started living here in Florence, I’ve dreamt of doing a family photoshoot in Boboli Gardens. I’m a huge fan of Italian gardens and especially the ones that are close to home. Every visit seems to hold its own kind of magic for me. It’s been my muse and my literal breath of fresh air. As you can imagine, when I found out that this family was interested in doing their shoot in the gardens, my heart jumped.

The St. Regis Florence

The moment I first began to exchange emails with Jennifer, I knew that this photoshoot was going to be extra special. She knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to scout around for the perfect location along with me. We originally thought we would find a typical Tuscan villa to do the shoot at but finally arrived at the idea of shooting inside the gardens.

Jennifer planned out each family members outfits and made sure that everyone looked like royalty on the day of the shoot. She even had the gowns handmade for each of the girls. The ending result was nothing short of awe-inspiring.

On this shoot, my assistant (my handsome Italian hubby) came along to help out. We met Jennifer and her beautiful family at their hotel, The St. Regis Florence. As the family was busy getting ready for the shoot, I was able to snap a couple portraits of the sisters in their luxurious hotel room.

The St. Regis was nice enough to offer us a driver and an extra assistant to take care of our needs during the shoot. We drove to the gardens and started the photo session. The red color of the girls dresses went so well with the lush greenery around them. The finished photos look like pictures of a royal family in their private gardens.

I could have stayed all day working with this family in the gardens but time was flying by and we had to rush to San Miniato al Monte to catch the setting sun.

After leaving Boboli, we drove up to San Miniato al Monte and only had a couple minutes before sunset to shoot the family with the gorgeous panoramic view of Florence behind them.

It was such a pleasure to photograph this Texas family, they were all smiles and easy to work with. It was bittersweet to say goodbye at the end of the day. Firstly because I fell in love with them and secondly, the day felt like it slipped by too fast. I would have loved to spend the whole day doing the shoot in the gardens.
