This past March I met with Darcy and Joe on an overcast but still gorgeous day in Florence for a destination couples portrait photoshoot. They were such a great pair who were delightfully natural and candid in front of the camera.

We started in Piazzale Michelangelo and then took advantage of the beautiful steps at the base of San Miniato al Monte close by to get some fun and playful shots before walking down the many steps to the city center. We stopped at Ponte alle Grazie and took some photos with the famous Ponte Vecchio in the background. We ended the shoot by getting some ice cream cones at Gelateria Dei Neri to take over to Piazza di Santa Croce for some candid ice cream eating action shots.

I really love how, even though it was a cloudy day, the light was still beautiful and warm in the photographs. March’s weather is always a gamble but it’s worth it to take a chance on visiting during this time. If you’re lucky, you beat the crowds and enjoy a peaceful trip to this quaint and enchanted Italian city.
