It was another beautiful day in Florence, Italy. I happily made my way up to Piazzale Michelangelo to meet the Behnken family for a one hour photo shoot in the area. I was put in touch with this beautiful family by Jennifer Cowden, an Italian travel specialist from Antico Sole Italy. Setting up the shoot and getting in touch with the Behnken family was a breeze thanks to Jennifer.
After a brief hello and getting to know one another, we set out to get some great photographs of the family. We started in Piazzale Michelangelo and then slowly made our way up to San Miniato al Monte.
This is one of my favorite locations in Florence to shoot. The obvious reason is the breathtaking view of the city in the background but I also love it for the many photo background options that are available. The elegant stone steps leading up to the church make a stunning backdrop and the tall pines and flowers add something even more special. It’s also known to be slightly less crowded than the city below which is exactly what you want if you’re trying to get a good family photo without brightly colored tourists dotting the background.
